Geraldo Pino and his band the Heartbeats kickstarted the whole soul/funk/afrobeat scene in the West Africa - Mixing highlife, funk and jazz, and using the latest equipment, they laid waste to all before them. This 1974 album is an African classic and features the single "Heavy Heavy Heavy" reissued by our very own Soul Jazz Records on a 7" at the start of 2017.
