Gene Hunt began djing in 1986 at the tender age of 14, he quickly became the key DJ on the Chicago circuit and eventually being taken under the wing of the legendry Ron Hardy. Many of the local producers gave Gene their new productions on reel-to-reel tapes, often rough cuts, homemade computer drum jams which never made it to final production at a professional studio. Included here are some artists early works dating back as early as 1982-1983.
Part 1 includes unreleased tracks from Mr Fingers, Steve Poindexter, Farley and Steve Hurley also includes reworks and original versions that were never properly released, like Ron Hardy's original version of 'Sensation' or Gene Hunts version of 'Donnie' and Mike Dunn's rework of Gherkin Jerks (Larry Heard) 'Acid Indigestion' . Most of the traks were never released as they were never deemed commerical enough, what did they know! Enjoy!
