Dennis Rootical, bassist and producer, member of the Iration Steppas sound system, Dub Judah, singer, multi-instrumentalist and bassist at the heart of the Twinkle Brothers, and Jah Shaka, a living legend of sound system culture. The story of “Better To Be Good” starts with a dubplate, in this case, an exclusive instrumental composed by Dennis Rootical for one of the most illustrious representatives of sound system culture, Jah Shaka. Jah Shaka began playing the track during his sets, and track quickly found success on the dance floor, becoming more and more popular. Spurred on by the positive reaction, Dennis Rootical then asked Dub Judah to add vocals to the instrumental. A true hymn to positivity, “Better To Be Good” would go on to become the standout track of the eponymous album of Dub Judah. Previously only available on this 1994 LP release, “Better To Be Good” is reissued by Dubquake accompanied with a previously unreleased and unobtainble dub version on the flip. The two tracks, recorded at the time in 4-track, have also been remastered by Dubtech studio.
