Issued in 1969 by Doctor Bird Records early on the company’s Pyramid subsidiary, "The Israelites" came hot on the heels of Desmond Dekker’s international smash hit of the same name. Such was the extent of Dekker’s global success that the album was licensed to companies around the world, seeing issue on a variety of different imprints and with a diverse array of sleeve designs. Despite the popularity of the album it has remained unavailable since its original release almost half a century ago. Now at long last, reggae fans can once again own a brand new copy of this hugely popular and significant album without having to break the bank. This faithful reproduction of the original UK issue has been mastered from the best available analogue source and is pressed on the highest quality vinyl.
