‘The Stage’ is one of the early ‘Big’ rhythms, Delroy Jones is ‘Crutches’ and recorded 25 tunes for a whole heap of producers from 69-79. He worked with Alvin Ranglin, Joe Gibbs, Randy’s, Phil Pratt, Winston Edwards. His main producer was the George Murphy of the Tennors. - he was the Tennors in house DeeJay. I’m sure George would have been more than ready to complete an album with Delroy, but back then DJ’s were not held in great esteem. That’s what makes people like U Roy and Dennis Alcapone so important, they turn nothing into something.
