Back in 2002 the classic 1983 New York graffiti documentary STYLE WARS was released as a 2 DVD set, within’ the extra content there was a section called “Classic Hits” from Tracy 168 featuring super 8 footage of many legendary mid 70’s graffiti writers. The music playing over this section had my vinyl collector friends and I scratching our heads for years saying “what is that amazing track”… that amazing track was TRACY SONG. This funky Latin Rock killer was recorded by David Chalfant (son of Style Wars producer Henry Chalfant) especially for the Classic Hits footage, this song can best be described as The Ghetto Brothers meets Melting Pot by Booker T And The M.G.’s.
