This was as much of a pleasant surprise to us as it doubtlessly will be to you, as Hyperdub kept this release a secret until the very last minute: a risky strategy for a lesser artist, but I guess they know that there's a huge interest in the follow up to his truly amazing debut album (if you haven't got his yet do so now!) ...and this 12" certainly won't disappoint fans of his album, as the trademark Burial sound is here furthered and refined, with a miasma of skittery garage beats buried beneath layers of filtered vocals. He manages to make everything sound as if you're hearing it at a great distance, as if approaching a rave with the muffled sounds leaking through the bricks! Bleak, hauntingly desolate beats to lift your soul! Highly recommended!
