Blind Prophet meets Daweh Congo for a heavy steppers 12” on Dub-Stuy

For his first release on Dub-Stuy since 2020’s groundbreaking Clash EP, US-based dub producer Blind Prophet teams up with the mystical voice of Daweh Congo on the 12” single Good Morning Zion. With its roaring bassline, razor-sharp drums, and enchanting melody, Blind Prophet’s steppers production is the perfect background for Daweh Congo’s vocals, as he sings in praise of the motherland.

For the dub versions, Blind Prophet calls upon the mixing and live dubbing skills of McPullish, a frequent Dub-Stuy collaborator. Using an analog board with outboard effects, the Texas-based engineer brings the intensity of the release to new heights, highlighting Daweh Congo’s hypnotic vocal on the “Zion Dub”, cranking the sub on the “Raw Dub”, and adding wild reverb and entrancing echoes on the “Dubplate Mix”.

This is steppers at its best: raw, energetic, and militant… a perfect soundtrack for late-night skanking sessions.
