Undulating bass! Tight drums! Horns blasting! From mellow soul numbers to funky disco tunes, this is the definitive Miami local funk album with a large group of the best grooves. This is the first reissue in the world to include all the original tracks and an additional single track.
This is the only album released in 1977 by the WASHINGTON JAMB BAND, which consisted of over 10 members and was formed mainly by teenagers. As the title of the album suggests, the album is full of energetic grooves, and the swirling slap bass, tight drums, rough cutting guitars, and a horn section are all in harmony with each other on the discotic title track "Gonna Get Your Cherry" (A2). The fast funk "Midnight Stroker" (A3) with backing keys, bass and horns, and the soulful instrumental number "Instrument Soul" (M5) are just like the song title. The entire album is floor-like, from the funk tunes to the mellow soul of "Living In Style" (B1) and "Who Want To Fall In Love" (B3), both featuring female vocals! The mellow instrumental ballad "In The Clouds" (A6), which was previously reissued on LP several years ago but was not included, is also included on this latest reissue!
