Inspired by the birth of his daughter, Arp Frique's The Gospel of St Jesamy EP was a wonderous and vibrant creation - an authentic fusion of gospel disco, P-funk, boogie and nu-disco (packed with notable guest vocalists and musicians) that caused a serious stir when it was released earlier this year. On this must-check single, stand out cut 'Save Your Soul' - a kind of revivalist gospel disco anthem topped off with superb vocals from gospel combo The Perpetual Singers - comes accompanied by a fresh rework by the mighty Joaquin 'Joe' Claussell. In. typical fashion, his near ten-minute version does a fine job adding a touch of deep, spiritual house grunt while making merry with Arp Frique's disco instrumentation and the Perpetual Singers' inspired vocals. It's a brilliant revision all told.
