Once described as the ‘New Youth Wailer’, Michael Prophet has worked with many producers like Yabby You and here on this record with Henry “Junjo” Lawes. Born in Kingston, Jamaica as Michael Haynes, ‘Certify’ was his only release for the Burning Sounds record label.  The album was released in 1983 and showcases the vocal talents of an artist who was hugely influenced by the great Bob Andy. Michael Prophet’s Roots Rhythms are evident from the moment the music and vocals start.‘Certify’ was recorded and mixed at the world famous Channel One Studio in Jamaica and engineered by the legendary ‘Scientist’. Musicians of note performing on these tracks include the High Times and Roots Radics Bands with backing vocals by the Tamlins and horns by Dean Fraser and Nambo Robinson.
