At last! This one took literally years to piece together. Does Dennis Bovell need an introduction? I think not but in case you don’t know, he is a musical polymath, top flight producer, dub legend and one of the finest artists the UK has ever produced. In 1981 Dennis released his solo album, “Brain Damage”. A double album that fused afro beat, funk, dub, jazz, blues and styles that have still to be genre-fied, it went over most people’s heads and is now a mainly forgotten masterpiece. This EP is a collection of some of his best work! Includes the magnificent “Heaven”, a disco dub afro-sound dance floor bomb that somehow manages to sound more current today than it did 35 years ago.
