Incredibly funky, deep-grooving and hypnotic recordings from Somalia's vibrant music scene!

From 1960's until the early 1990's Somalia's capital Mogadishu was a hotbed of creativity for pop and folk musicians. Dur-Dur Band were one of the capitals most popular bands. Considered a "private band" therefore not beholden to government pressure to sing about political topics, the band spread the message of love and culture. Influenced by Western pop, jazz and middle eastern elements, creating a swirling unique and beautiful sound.  Remastered from a cassette copy source, this is a rare chance to own a long-player from this era in its entirety.  Tip!
