Embodiment of the sweet spot where hip hop meets jazz, soul, and psychedelia. Recorded during the time Roots drummer ?uestlove was the powerhouse of the Soulquarians music collective, whose other projects included Erykah Badu's "Mama's Gun", D'Angelo's "Voodoo" and Common's "Like Water For Chocolate". This album is considered The Roots' breakthrough and was nominated for the Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2000. The track "You Got Me" won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance the same year.
