Roy Porter is best known for playing an important part of the Bebop movement in the 1940s. He had played with guitarist Teddy Bunn and Howard McGhee as well as Charlie Parker on the now classic Dial session on 28 March 1946. In the late 1960s he began working with a trio which he called Roy Porter Sounds which he later changed to Roy Porter Sound Machine. He released two albums as well as some 45s, one of them being this amazing double-sider featuring jazz singer Dahle Scott.
