      Bernard "Beloyd" Taylor was an American R&B songwriter, multi-instrumentalist (mainly guitar andpercussion) and vocalist born on September 7, 1952 in Cleveland, OH. Taylor joined S.O.U.L. in 1972 and was atouring member of Earth, Wind & Fire in 1981/1982 (co-writing “Getaway”). He died in Cleveland on January13, 2014. In 1977 he recorded at album for 20th Century Records, but only these two songs came out that yearon 7”.

      Original copies sell from £300-£500 and this 2025 issue on Expansion is the first reissue on 7”. We allneed to wait longer to know whether we will ever get to hear the full album (despite one acetate pressing thatexists, believed to be in Japan).

      Beloyd also wrote “Lover’s Touch” for Chaka Khan.
