333 hits again with another dig into the archives of Winston Jones' Flames imprint, this time coming with a searingly heartfelt and soulful vocal from Nairobi Sisters' Flora Adams recorded in mid '70s Brooklyn.
Flora Adams recorded this outstanding vocal for Winston Jones' Brooklyn based Flames label at S&S Sound Studio in Canarsie in the mid-1970s, backed by Flames' in house band. "Fire Fire" is a cover of Tina Charles' disco hit "You Set My Heart On Fire", with the then-teenage member of the Nairobi Sisters making the lyrics entirely her own through a searingly raw and heartfelt vocal. On the flip the Rough Riders solid rocksteady-influenced instrumental is injected with sharply delayed pieces of horns and vocal cuts to great effect.
