LA composer and producer Adrian Younge jams open a new chapter for his Linear Labs imprint with Sao Paulo, a 2024 set framing the next wave of albums he's written and produced, and which have yet to be released. Rather than a standard V/A comp, it manifests as preview suite: one track pulled from each forthcoming project. 'Esperando Por Voce' hints at Something About April III with Portuguese vocals and hazy orchestration, while 'Rules Of The Game' with Snoop Dogg teases the blaxploitation arc of Don't Cry For The Devil. Elsewhere, Liraz's Farsi-language 'Farrar Konam', Bilal's 'Spiraling' and Laetitia Sadier's 'Purification' widen the score. Tracked at Linear Labs Studios with Younge's in-house orchestra, it wires soul, psych and Afrobeaten funk round a magnetic, cinematic core.
