Kakai Kilonzo & Les Kilimambogo BrothersBuffalo MountainNo Wahala Sounds

Kakai Kilonzo is one of only a handful of benga artists to attract a broad following across Kenya. He opened up his music to others outside his Kamba language and background by singing in Swahili, which is widely understood throughout Kenya.

The songs on this compilation are taken from across Kakai's recording career, spanning from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, shortly before his illness and untimely death in early 1987, aged only 33. A selection of hard-to-find 45s from Les Kilimambogo Brothers, which are being released on vinyl here, for the first time outside Kenya.

A Black Scorpio anthem that most should know and perhaps already carry in their record box, only this time they’ve added a 2020 update sweetness to the mix. To balance the vintage with the modern, they invited the living legend, music maestro Dean Fraser to the Black Scorpio studios.

    Johnny ClarkeSit Down & WonderTRS

Voiced over Sugar Minott’s 'Victim Of Society'' rhythm that was reissued a couple of years back, this time featuring legendary Rootsman himself Johnny Clarke with 'Sit Down & Wonder'. First time on a 7" it was originally voiced in 1985, however the tapes would sit stagnant on the shelves for almost 20 years before surfacing again on a Black Scorpio compilation called 'Come With Me'. Combining the vintage with the modern we have also added a new 2020 mix to this deadly version.
