      Newark's The Nicky Newarkers made a brief splash in the mid-70s soul-dance scene with their rare Mercury 7" single from 1976.

      The record's two tracks, 'Woman' and 'Leave Me Or Love Me', were produced by Cuban-American Jesus Alvarez alongside Jerry Ross. Though short-lived themselves, the group's single gained a mythos of its own accord among Northern soul and soul-dance collectors down the line, likely due to the light and tipsily timed vocal hook on 'Woman'.

      Original Mercury pressings are notoriously scarce, making this Expansion reissue a worthily razzy revival.
