The Gentle Giant The Autobiography Of Yusef Lateef

    Morton Books

Super-personal autobiogrophy of one of the deepest men in jazz. Yusef Lateef was one of the first jazz musicians in America to look towards Eastern music (and religion) in the 1950s onwards and later to explore what would become world music - before Coltrane, Don Cherry and anyone else. He is a true pioneer and this is a fascinating book of a fascinating artist. Comes with a full discography (very big!) and an introduction by Adam Rudolph (Hu Vibrational) who has played with the great man for a number of years. Great stuff!
