A previously unreleased version of one of the Small Faces last recorded songs is to be made available exclusively for Record Store Day 2016. Originally planned as a single in 1968, the mono mix of Steve Marriott’s ’The Autumn Stone’ was never released due to Immediate label boss Andrew Loog Oldham dislike of the song (the title of which he later used for the final Small Faces album!). In preparing the definitive expanded remaster of ‘The Autumn Stone’ album, a tape was discovered containing the unissued mono single mix. Coupled with ‘Me You And Us Too’, an early version of ‘Wham Bam Thank You Mam’ (the original intended b-side) the single will be pressed on “autumn gold” vinyl under the unused Immediate catalogue number, IM083, in a full colour picture sleeve reproducing Gered Mankowitz’s original artwork and photos.
