&Co. return after a long gap with 'Staycation', landing on Quiet Village's in-house label for their second release and first since 2015's Best Of Friends. The trio - LA figure Alex Olson, Italian pianist Alberto Bof and DJ Paul Takahashi - take to a slower, more cinematic mode here, as Balearic drift meets bass cello and strobing bardo lights on 'Lean Like A Cello' and the late-elavating 'Liquor Run'. Melodies sink deep and keep deliberately unhurried; the pluck-stabs on the latter tune are especially enjoyable too, allowing enough space for a searing, grumbling bass pocket to poke past.
