Rio Breaks A Story Of Surviving And Survival

    Mr Bongo Films

Documentary telling the story of two boys from the Brazilian slums ('favelas') who dream of becoming professional surfers. Best friends Fabio (13) and Naama (12) have grown up in Favela do Pavao, an enormous slum near Arpoador Beach in Rio de Janeiro. The boys spend as much time as they can surfing on their favourite beach, and dream of winning the annual surfing contest. But will they be able to resist the lure of the local drugs gangs and overcome the pressures of life in the favela to follow their dream and rise above the poverty and violence that surround them?
