This tune has a long history. Benjie used to sing these lyrics live on King Shiloh Sound System during the late 90s. Some of those sessions were recorded on cassette and managed to reach all the way to Sweden. We (Meditative Sounds) listened to those tapes in our early years and these lyrics caught our attention. Andreas had the idea to voice the track as a dubplate to run on the sound system. He contacted Benjie and voiced it on a riddim built by our bredrin Ola (who runs One Away Studio). I don't remember exactly what year this happened, but it was likely sometime in the 00s.

Forward on into the 20s, Andreas came up with the idea to rebuild the riddim around the vocal, but this time intended for release. He linked up with Benjie and Uta Maruanaya aka Roots Unity who at the time was working as a musician at Earth Works Amsterdam. Uta played all the instruments on this new incarnation of the tune.
The tune was then sent to Gil Cang out of the Tuff Scout camp for mixing duties!

It's been one of the most featured tunes on Medi sessions in recent years and has also been played by sound systems globally. It was set for release as early as 2024, but due to unforeseen circumstances it got heavily delayed.
