The Riots EP features two conscious collaborations with Scottish vocalist Vixen Sound: “Ostrich” and “Starting Riots”. The former, a ska-tinged steppers discomix, modernizes the adage about burying one’s head in the sand for this era of misinformation and willful ignorance. The latter, a heavyweight roots relick, demands societal accountability atop an over-driven bassline, with an ensuing dub that is haunting yet playful. Featuring production work from both sides of the Pomegranate Sounds label crew, this is primed for the sound system. French duo ►►△ [Tree-Angles] handled the A-side, while American The Groove Thief linked up with old friend Scotty McD for the B-side. The artwork is a collage by Tree-Angles, which boisterously represents this vocal showcase.
