This is a lost classic that almost never saw the light of day! These two CDs collect the recordings of a seminal 1965 live performance by John Coltrane's classic quartet at the height of their powers (they had just recorded A Love Supreme) that were aired on a New York late-night radio broadcast and achieved legendary status as bootleg taped recordings secretly circulated among the jazz community. John Coltrane was a musical genius of the highest order and these blistering performances really show you why he's held in such high esteem, especially in his improvisation on "One Down, One Up". An essential addition to your deep jazz collection!
