Recorded in London in 1981 for the Sylvester Music Company, Bright And Shining captures Barbara Moore at a point of rare ease and clarity. A key figure in British library music, Moore shapes a set built around gentle momentum, melodic poise and tonal warmth. Fender Rhodes chords drift across supple basslines, while her characteristic vocal harmonies float lightly through the arrangements. 'Bright & Shining' and 'Going On Holiday' carry an unforced, sunlit glide, their grooves relaxed yet precise. Elsewhere, 'Canon' and 'Smooth & Soft' reveal Moore's control of harmony and pacing, small shifts lending colour and lift. Carefully remastered, the album still sounds open, generous and quietly distinctive.
