      North Carolina vocal and instrumental group Brief Encounter. Following on from their faultless first album, their second album, released in 1981, is being reissued on LP in its original jacket for the first time! This is another perfectly killer modern soul/boogie album, the original LPs of which are extremely rare!

      Brief Encounter is a nine-piece vocal and instrumental group led by four North Carolina-based Bailey brothers. Their second album, We Want To Play, released on the Music Town label in 1981, is being reissued to coincide with the release of a collection of singles! The album features two tracks featuring female singer Julia Grant, the beautiful melodic medium 'Just For Love' and the superb mellow groove 'Sweet Tender Loving', as well as the title track 'We Want To Play For You' and 'Open Up Your Heart'. The title track 'We Want To Play For You', 'Open Up Your Heart', the best boogie tunes and the sweetest ballad ever, this is a masterpiece that is no less than the first one!
