Since issuing the sequel to Austin Bascom AKA Abacus' admired EP Analog Stories late last year, Phonogramme has continued to deliver much-check instalments from the talented Toronto producer. Predictably, the long-serving artist is in fine from throughout volume five of the series. He sets his stall out via 'The Hustle (Boardwalk Mix)', where soulful vocal samples, emotive piano motifs, dreamy chords and seductive synth-strings tumble down over a luscious deep house groove, before going deeper and dreamier still on the gorgeous 'Let Me Show You (Nyabingi Dub)'. 'What's Up (Str8 Mix)' is a loose-limbed, sample-rich jazz-house bumper, while 'Testpilot (Pogue Edit)' is deep, emotion-stirring, spacey and hypnotic in the best possible way.
