A single Lee Perry first issued right after his fabled Black Ark Studio was first up and running. On the A-Side you know you’ve got something special when a cut kicks off with Lee Perry growling like a lion, borrowing heavily from Al Green’s “Love And Happiness” for “Jungle Lion.” On the B-Side Perry lets The Upsetters do the roaring with the cut being remixed into “Freak Out Skank.” First issued in 1973 on Perry’s own Justice League imprint with a UK issue following almost immediately, miss this and you’ll miss one of the most crucial developments in the sonic evolution of Scratch’s 1970s output. Highly Recommended.
