'Nothing New' is an album of recordings that Gil Scott-Heron and Richard Russell made in New York during the sessions for 'I'm New Here'. It is comprised of songs that Gil chose from his back catalogue, just voice and piano. Each song he chose was from a different album of his. He carefully curated the selection, so this album is both utterly unique and it serves as an excellent introduction to his previous output. The sleeves are silkscreened on a chipboard LP cover with the wonderful, old style flaps on the back and they've got fantastic liner notes from Richard Russell as well as a full colour inner sleeve that pictures which Gil LPs the original songs are from as well as a letter from Gil talking about some of his favourite music.
